BTW these masks doesn't protect anything, it's just make the person stop spreading the germs if he's infected not for viruses, also 3M masks doesn't protect from viruses, it's just for small particles in the air, viruses can easly go through both of them...

i always wonder how people can be so stupid to think dust masks will filter out something else than dust. the only thing this dust masks are good for, is catching some of your salvia when you sneeze. some, and not all.. as the name tells you: DUSTfilters filter DUST. what you need, is a filter cartridge and a gasmask. there are different filter types. A B and C for atomical, biological and chemical hazards. they have a colour code that shows you ecaxtly for what kind of hazard they are. also, there are some combi filters where you have to read the manual to find out what exactly they are catching. usually, this cartridge is mounted on a full- or semiface gasmask (like soldiers use). only this shit keeps you safe..

What I recall they dont use it for the air there. It is common that if you are sick or have a cold, you wear those mask so you won't infect other people

those masks are pretty common in Asia not because of the virus but because of the polution in the air and yes they help. Personally i use them in summer because im allergic to some trees.

Both useless, not even a HEPA or ULPA filters can protect you from virus, the only way is to isolate yourself using your own air system. Those only work to stop spitting some fluids in the air nothing else
