If you really want to back up that standpoint then go to a slaughterhouse, watch as the cow is killed, maybe help gutting it and bleed it dry. Don't pretend to be tough if you have someone else do the dirty work for you. I'm not saying it will surely turn you into a vegan, but at least you will be able to say you made a well informed decision.

I have been a vegetarian since twelve years and in the last years I have really changed it to a healthy diet. Now I will probably change to vegan due to health reasons. Being vegetarian or vegan doesn't have anything to do with eating just grass. I would never mock meat eaters or tell my family or partner to be vegetarian. But it seems a big problem for other people that I am. I still wonder why :D I do not mean this post, but shortly my mother-in-law said "You will see, in one year you will eat meat again" (after twelve years of not) and my grandmother said "Can't it be that your health issues are from your diet?" No. I have watched my diet more than I have when I ate meat. And with my bad luck it now lucks like I got a auto-immune desease which will be better when being vegan. But hey - at least I have already done something without knowing because I didn't eat meat the last twelve years. When you watch iron and vitamines, being vegetarian shouldn't be a problem :)

My brother worked in a slaughterhouse Though it was for Chicken, he did pretty much everything, up to and including slicing their neck From what I understand, it wasn't too bad The chicken are killed by electricity after being hanged upside down
